GUEST ARTIST: LUCINDA BLISS

In her current work, Lucinda is playing with the idea of protection. She combines images of wild animals and human figures with armor, rose petals, blood cells, and graphic elements such as paisleys and swirls that reference a pop culture view through a microscope. Lucinda teaches studio art and visual culture at Vermont College. She is represented by Whitney Art Works in Portland, Maine and has had recent exhibits at Whitney Art Works, The Center for Maine Contemporary Art, Space Gallery, and The Boston Center for the Arts, among others. In 1988 she received a BA in Art History with a minor in English from Skidmore College. In 1999, she earned an MFA in Visual Art from Vermont College.
