GUEST ARTIST: ALEX SAX

Alex Sax has been painting, drawing and making sculptures of animals for several years. Inspired by the writing of naturalist Gerald Durrell and the art of Joseph Cornell, Sax has created work that is both playful and serious with an edge of mystery and magic.   She has exhibited in New York, Philadelphia and throughout New England. In Maine, she exhibits at Leighton Gallery and Whitney Art Works. She has been awarded residencies at the MacDowell Colony, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and Weir Farm and received her BA from Hamilton College and an MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts .
